I would like to thank the esteemed writer and poet, Michael Rosen for his kind wards

“I really enjoyed reading Paul Ross’s poems. They combine expressions of direct feeling and reflection told in rhythmic patterns that criss-cross through the poems. He moves from raw experience to speculation to judgements on life in engaging ways.”

Dyslexic thoughts in words

Words fracture into letter confetti
struggling to bind the weight
of lived experience

Watch as they recombine
to map the tectonic shifts
in our imaginations
triggered by staccato bursts
of vocalised machine gun fire

The shell casings dropping
to the floor as empty words
while the imaginary bullets
pass through us all
like idea-fire
blowing each mind in turn
as Paul Ross writes

Read it and be inspired
